2nd Draft of Magazine

This is my second draft with the improvements for the front cover taken into account and a contents page and a double page spread.
Since my last front cover, I feel as though I have made a massive improvement. I have added more conventions like feature stories, a barcode, a price, date, a plug and a poster advertisement.
I also made adjustments to the conventions I alread had. I capitalised the masthead to make it look bigger and stand out a bit more. I changed the main feature story title layout with "Delirium" in a big 'Eroded' font from dafont.com which suits the genre of rock more and conforms to the stereotype of rockstars being messy, also I've changed the layout if the pull quote and changed the colours to black and white which is in contrast to the costumes; making it more readable. The colour scheme is now black, red and white because in my first draft I used yellow and 2 different shades of red as well but it didn't look right so I decided to use the three colours I mentioned first.

Album Cover

I have created an album cover for my Double Page Spread. I thought that this would be a good idea because when interviewing new artists, the topic of their debut album will pop at some point during the interview. I have done research on album art for rock bands and most of them has something that gives it an artistic look so for Delirium's album, I used Adobe Illustrator to create this and Photoshop to add the band's name and album title (which I took from dafont.com and edited on Photoshop), 'Parental Advisory Explicit Content' logo (from Google Images) and a background.

Below is the finished album cover.

I used the same method as I did to create the cartoon version of Patrick Stump in a previous post but found that Adobe Illustrator is similar to Photoshop but a lot easier to use when trying to create a cartoon because it allows you automatically colour-in when drawing lines with the pen tool.

Contents Page Planning

Here are some images I (possibly) include in my contents page
