I have taken more photographs more my magazine's front cover, contents and double page spread. This time I was able to get a better quality camera.

Feature Story Photographs
These are some pictures from a photoshoot I did for a feature story for my music magazine. I thought I'd do a tribute to the late David Bowie, so my friend Callan, wanted to be David Bowie. A friend did the makeup/facepaint for him and I took photographs of her applying the makeup/facepaint to Callan's face.
Here is the finished David Bowie look :)

Masthead Ideas
Here are some fonts I liked on www.dafont.com which I thought would suit my magazine genre. At the moment I've not yet decided which one I want but I'm going to insert them all into my magazine file on Photoshop and upload the magazine front cover with the different masthead fonts but, I'm going to hide the other mastheads when I'm not using them. It just makes it easier to change the mastheads.

Drawing on photoshop
To create the album cover for the band on my front cover, I will use Photoshop. I will use the YouTube videos below for guidance and I will use a similar style of the drawing produced in the videos
.
I have attempted to make a cartoon version of this image of Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy just to get some practice.

I have attempted to make a cartoon version of this image of Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy just to get some practice.
In the animated version that I did, I did a number of things different for example, the shaping of the hair. The hair was very complicated because of all the directions the individual strands were going in and the hair colour was difficult which I tried to get as accurate as I could. so I did my own interpretation of Stump's hair. Another thing which I found difficult was the skin colour. Due to the lighting in the image, the skin colour appeared different everywhere do I decided to do it one shade. and a third thing I did different was the tie. The shirt is checkered so it would have been time consuming to try and get through all the little squares, therefore I only chose red.
For the album cover, I will use this method to make the cover as many band front covers are quite artistic and animation/cartoon is an art method.

Self Assessment of First Draft
- I need to add some more conventions like feature stories, plugs, a bar code, a date, price and issue number.
- I need to take more photographs for my feature stories.
- Try and design my own masthead/logo instead of using another website
- Overall, I need to work on timing because I would have done the above but I misjudged my time management.

Magazine Front Cover Draft
This was done before the Christmas holiday. I know I haven't done much but due to time management, I was only able to get this done.
I've conformed to conventions because I have included a main image, a masthead, a pull quote, and a skyline and a footer.
Obviously I need to add more like feature stories, plugs, a barcode, a date and price. I also feel like I need to use a diffent image as the image seems slightly blurred

Band Inspirations
The band that will feature in my magazine will be a duo consisting of a female singer/bassist and a male drummer. I have decided to change my chosen sub-genre of just alternative rock and do numerous rock sub-genres after seeing the results of my survey.
The gimmick for the band, in terms of looks, will be inspired by bi-polar disorder, with each band member representing a different emotion and the Joker and Harley Quinn as they are both psychotic characters with unique images that would fit in perfectly in a rock band with amazing face paint.
